My Experience

I have completed several internships in addition to my experience with campus organizations. These positions have allowed me to publish written pieces on various platforms.

Currently, I am the editor of the fashion desk at 303 Magazine. I manage a desk of about 10 writers and foster an environment where Denver fashion can take shape in the form of storytelling. My tasks consist of creating a weekly editorial calendar, approving pitches alongside the other editors of the magazine, editing articles on WordPress, managing the budget for the fashion desk and reaching out to members of the Denver community to tell stories that deserve to be told.

At The Bold CU, a student media organization comprised of peers studying journalism, public relations and more, I am the magazine Editor-in-Chief. In this role, I am responsible for organizing, assembling and editing the magazine editions for the academic year. I work closely with staff writers, other editors and faculty to create magazine editions to share with the student population that touch on a variety of relevant topics.

In Fall 2020, I worked with AvidLifestyle Magazine as an editorial intern. I assisted the editor in creating small blurbs for the monthly calendars and interviewed sources and compiled research to write several stories published in the magazine and on the website. I familiarized myself with WordPress by uploading content on the website as well. Through attending weekly meetings with the AvidLifestyle and AvidGolfer team, I gained professional experience and knowledge in running a publication.

As a journalism intern with the nonprofit Off the Hook Arts in the Summer of 2020, I created social media content, interviewed local artists and advertisers and wrote blog posts. I attended socially distanced outdoor festival events and captured video footage. During a crowdsourcing campaign, I facilitated daily Facebook Livestreams to raise awareness and gain communal support. I created the Off the Hook Arts' Alcove podcast, where I interviewed artists who submitted work to the Arts' Alcove hosted by the nonprofit. I edited the episodes, uploaded them to Spotify and promoted the podcast on social media.
